Network Marketing Business – Building Your Network Marketing Business to Last

December 30th, 2009

Building your network marketing business to last is a challenge because the vast majority of every kind of business fails. Same for MLM distributors. The barriers to owning a network marketing business are low, so virtually anyone can start their own business. To be successful, you need to either start with a big network of people who know you, like you and trust you, or you must build that network. It’s important to pick a plan that pays well for real production. It’s a big plus to understand marketing, because you will need to continually build your network. And if you are like most people who don’t start with that strong network in place, you must build it from the get-go.

There is a lot involved to become successful in MLM, just like in any other business. And yet, so many people these days are hyping the “multiple streams of income” approach in MLMs. You can look long and hard and still never find anyone who is successful in 2 network marketing businesses at the same time. Heck, it’s tough to find a person who has actually built full-time income in ONE business. That’s why it’s amazing people think they can build FIVE business at a time, as some of them claim? It’s probably pretty simple: they’re full of it. They’re hoping that if they promote 5 businesses to you, maybe you’ll see one you like and join. Most people who do this just disappear quickly. What works is to pick the best one you can find and build that business. Multiple streams of MLM income is an idea whose time will never come.

A lot of people start in network marketing with the idea that they want to get in position to make a lot of money. They hear stories of people earning 7 figures a month. And it certainly has happened. However, the key is to understand the numbers. Not long ago, a report was compiled of the financial statements of 7 well-known, publicly-traded MLM companies. This report showed that what these companies pay out to the distributor base ranged from a low of 25% of gross income to a high of about 42% of gross income. Think about this. You’ll always have just a portion of profits to the distributor base. Let’s call it 40%. If you have a heavy hitter at that company making $1 million a month, what does that mean? You can certainly conclude that a lot of other reps aren’t getting much return for their work. The truth is, the LESS that heavy hitter is paid, the MORE that the part-timers get paid. And those folks account for 95% of everybody in MLM, and they are the ones who have the dream. People get so excited when someone gets a huge paycheck. However, it may mean you actually have LESS chance to earn a good check.

These ideas and many others are discussed by Michael Dlouhy in the free ebook “Success In 10 Steps.” I compiled a list of MLM keywords recently and discovered something interesting. Reading the search results, 75% (!) of the top 20 MLM-related search terms had to do with “leads!” If ever there was evidence of the #1 focus of network marketers, that was it for me. Obviously it makes sense. To win the network marketing game a steady stream of targeted, interested people to talk to. Now you see why people put such a high value on this ebook over the years. It’s generic, so you can actually use it as part of your own lead generation system. Very workable plan.

Network Marketing Revolution – The Time Has Come

December 25th, 2009

My friends, I believe that we in Network Marketing, are at the beginning of a fantastic trend – a revolution in the industry.

For years, the top levels of this business have been dominated by red personalities. You know the type I’m talking about… the “hard hitting, no remorse, all go, never quit until you beg, plead, and bribe every innocent grandmother into your organization” kind of personality. This behavior, among other things, has led to a public misunderstanding of the potential of Network Marketing.

There’s a reason that as soon as one of your friends hears that you’re a Network Marketer, they head for the hills and join the Witness Protection Program. It’s because they’ve probably been hounded by someone else in Network Marketing and lived to tell the story. And BY GOD do they tell the story! They share their negative experience with everyone they know.

WELL GUESS WHAT – THE TIME OF HOUNDING IS OVER

Thousands of Network Marketers have been subject to this behavior and you know what they’ve realized? They’re not comfortable with it. They’ve had enough! They’re starting to see that people aren’t numbers, not everyone is interested in starting their own business, and not everyone is a prospect!

More time is being focused on building relationships with people rather than trying to convince every 2nd person you meet that your DEAL is the best thing in the world for them.

Countless Network Marketers have been burnt by the flames of the red personalities, and they’re ready to do MLM the way it should be done – with honesty and integrity. The next generation of Network Marketers, of all ages, will band together to revolutionize how this industry is perceived by the public.

I estimate that in the not-too-distant future, Network Marketing will be accepted by the masses and will be an awfully strong channel for the world to purchase products.

Move aside Red Personalities. Your time is over.

Network Marketing Tips – How to Succeed at Network Marketing

November 12th, 2009

Network Marketing is an interesting profession. You will often get people in 2 camps.

Either they love it, or they hate it.

Those that do well in network marketing usually have a few ingredients that allow them to earn a salary that pays for a financially rewarding lifestyle.

1. Hanging on to the Mothership or New Explorer?

To do well as a network marketer, you must be an expert in your craft. The company or your upline can assist you by providing good products that you can market and how to successfully market this business. Your best bet for success is to break away from your upline as soon as possible and become the CEO of your own business empire. The faster you become the expert, the faster your network marketing business will grow.

2. Sell to them En Masse via Database Marketing!

Did you know that people make $10,000 plus each month just having a huge database of niche audience? Once you have the power to drive traffic, to bring customers to a certain venue, restaurant, seminar, you have the power to negotiate for anything you want. The concept works exactly the same for network marketing. You can speak to a network marketing company and ask for free space in order to hold a seminar that sells the company’s products. This is a JV approach to succeeding big time in network marketing.

3. Large ticket items or Small?

Some network marketing products sell for $10, others sell for $50,000. Need less to say, its much better to spend time 1 on 1 with a big customer then with 1 customer buying a $10 product. So choose your company wisely and be sure that the product range is something that connects and sells well with the consumers. Product must come 1st, Business opportunity comes second.

4. The Team Style

To be successful in network marketing requires us to have a strong sponsor in order to have a good start. Look at it this way. If an upline does cold calling and you joined that team. How do you think you will be sharing the business to other business seekers? Most likely, this team will be dubbed “the cold calling team” and that is how this camp will build the business. The team may have conditioning sessions where you are trained to hear 10 “no’s” before you hear a yes. This sort of condition/cold calling regime does work. For me, its a pretty tough way to build a network marketing business and there are many better ways such as database network marketing systems.

Hope these quick tips benefit you!
