What are the challenges of the network marketing business? Right now, I’ll share with you some of the challenges that network marketers face in their business and why you need to be able to overcome these challenges in order to have even the slightest chance of success.
1. Fraud Companies
A lot of network marketing companies will claim that they are legitimate and some of their products and services seem to be really good ideas as well as profitable. However, you have to be extra careful because scam companies that give network marketing a bad name are really con artists – and they excel at what they do. Find out as much as you can where the top people come from, whether the company actually have a physical product. If they don’t and they’re just selling a way to make money, beware, it could very well be a pyramid scheme. If they have products, don’t be coerced to purchase a lot of products because they say that you have to be familiar with the product. If needed, purchase something so you can know what the product is. You don’t need to spend thousands of dollars to know about a product.
2. Fear
Most people fail at network marketing because they cannot overcome their fear. The fears that are evident in network marketing are: fear of failure, fear of talking to someone new, fear of losing relationships, fear of being rejected, fear of trying something for the first time, just to name a few. It’s only natural to have a certain level of fear but learning how to deal with the fear is very critical. The fear, albeit legitimate, can be overcome. It takes training and guidance to overcome such problems.
3. Failed Cloning
Successful network marketing involves duplication to a certain extent. Some people are really good at getting people to join them but they’re not good at having their DNA and their belief system imprinted onto the people who are joining them. If that’s not done right, there’s basically no duplication. Even if that person has a hundred downlines working in his team and he didn’t train the downlines right, in the end, he’ll just be working alone and by himself with no one working together with him. The scariest thing is that sometimes, after several months into the business, that person then realises what he has done wrong and he has already wasted valuable time and resources if he has to start over building a team again.

Network Marketing Companies Seek Professionals From Unemployed Talent Pool
December 22nd, 2009
Network Marketing (NM) or Multi-Level-Marketing (MLM) has historically been a controversial subject since the early days of Amway. In 1979 the Federal Trade Commission ruled that Amway was not an illegal pyramid but a legal and legitimate business. Since that infamous federal ruling, network marketing has grown from an esoteric business model to a highly efficient distribution system.
Today, Network Marketing is reported to be a $100 billion dollar industry, made up of FORTUNE 500 and New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) companies. Traditional sales method companies such as Colgate-Palmolive and the Gillette Company have Network Marketing subsidiaries. Rexall Drug is now using the Network Marketing method of distribution.
But as many American workers face shrinking pay checks, dwindling 401k retirement plans, and threats of layoffs, many households and business professionals are finding that the Network Marketing industry can be a viable financial option and an opportunity to augment their primary income.
Mark Archer a business blogger, and network marketing coach and trainer from San Diego is a notorious promoter and supporter of the network marketing industry. He says “I’m fortunate to have seen both sides of business from both an entrepreneur in network marketing and as a business consultant in traditional business. What I can say about the network marketing industry is that the business plan is the most efficient and most lucrative I’ve ever seen from both a distribution channel and an entrepreneurial opportunity.” He adds, “Just like there are good and bad companies out there in traditional business; there are both good and bad companies in the MLM industry.”
Archer, who markets 80% of his products and services online, is an independent distributor for a health and nutrition company. When searching for the best company, Archer says, “There are generally 5 things I look for before I join. The last company I was with failed this test so I was much more careful before I jumped in. I had to be sure that this company was reliable, and stable with safe and consumable products.”
Network Marketing companies replace traditional advertising and marketing costs with sales commissions to independent representatives, paid after the product is sold. Faith Popcorn, in her best-selling book, The Popcorn Report, explains additional societal trends driving the success of Network Marketing. Her book describes consumers as having a desire to cocoon and stay at home. Advertising Age magazine states that the recommendation from a friend is the most powerful form of advertising.
Network Marketing Companies generally have several levels of investment and usually require an initial investment between $500 to $1,500. The companies generally allow their members to work their own hours and offer incentives for those that want to build their business quickly.
Technological advances have also drastically affected the work forces of entire industries. In 1985, vinyl records supported a $24 billion a year industry. Today it is all but extinct. One robot can replace twenty human workers and extinguishes the need for companies to pay exorbitant amounts in employee benefits.
Most experts advise that before joining any network company, you should check the credentials and track record of the the company. The company should also be registered by the DSA (Direct Sales Administration).
