			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><br/><br/>There&#8217;s been a booming trend lately with so-called internet marketing &#8220;gurus&#8221;: Big ticket seminars and product launches.<br/><br/>You know the kind.<br/><br/>&#8220;Starting in two weeks, you only have three days to pony up $10k for my exclusive product launch, and after that it&#8217;s too late to ever learn all the secrets to exploding your income online.&#8221;<br/><br/>Then, each day your in-box is pounded with JV/partner/affiliate promotions for the same launch:<br/><br/>&#8220;Use my link and I&#8217;ll give you an extra bonus&#8221;<br/><br/>&#8220;Oooh! Oooh! Pick me, and I&#8217;ll give you one of my products FREE!&#8221;<br/><br/>&#8220;No wait! Pick ME and I&#8217;ll give you my shirt, my first born, a new car, and a bunch of other stuff that&#8217;s really cool I swear.&#8221;<br/><br/>What we have here is a classic example of finding a niche and filling it. Only in this case, the niche is people with &#8220;shiny object syndrome&#8221;.<br/><br/>We get so caught up in trying to grow our business using the latest internet marketing tactics that we float from one new product to another, without ever fully implementing the strategies we learned in the last product we purchased.<br/><br/>We&#8217;re stuck on having &#8220;the latest and greatest&#8221; so that we&#8217;re not left out in the cold. Heaven forbid we might miss out on a couple of dollars, when in reality, we&#8217;re probably &#8220;dropping dollars to pick up dimes&#8221; as my momma would say.<br/><br/>&#8220;Mad Guru&#8221; disease is sweeping the Internet. These ultra pricey products and events are causing most of us to pull our hair out! Why are they so pricey? Many times, it&#8217;s because HALF (or more) of the ticket price is being paid out in commissions to affiliates!<br/><br/>And as long as the gurus are raking in the cash, they&#8217;ll keep serving the market. Why not? It&#8217;s lucrative for everyone who owns a &#8220;company store&#8221; &#8211; selling picks and shovels to the internet and network marketing miners.<br/><br/>Don&#8217;t get me wrong. There&#8217;s a lot to be learned here. As a Network Marketer, I came online to grow my business using tools and strategies I learned from the Internet. I have created a successful niche and career for myself selling those same picks and shovels to network marketing miners.<br/><br/>You&#8217;ve heard it said before &#8220;sell the dream, not the deal.&#8221; And on it goes in the wild wild Web.<br/><br/>It really got me to thinking about my customers, and what I was sending them. Was I over promoting and under-delivering? I serve a network marketing community where every penny (and second) is precious. To waste the time (or money) of a stay-at-home soccer mom of four that&#8217;s trying to keep &#8220;the ends&#8221; together, juggle multiple family schedules, and have a little free time for her family is ludicrous!<br/><br/>When I went away for four days and came home to over 1400 unread messages in my inbox, it hit me.<br/><br/>The inordinate amount of time I was WASTING reading the same jv promotion over and over was insane: sometimes 2 or 3 emails from the same person in one day!<br/><br/>Frankly, I would have trouble sleeping at night if I pulled these same kinds of shenanigans. Call me nuts, but I&#8217;d feel guilty sending out that much email to my list!<br/><br/>It&#8217;s painful and shameful to admit, but I&#8217;m a recovering &#8220;shine-ob-ite&#8221; myself. I think I was subscribed to something like 40 different mailing lists &#8211; probably more, but I lost count. So, I got VERY selective. My time is more valuable to me now.<br/><br/>But more importantly, it taught me a lesson. As I was culling my in-box that day, I counted MAYBE 20 value added messages that weren&#8217;t blatant affiliate/jv promotions. Those subscriptions, I kept. The rest went bye bye.<br/><br/>I&#8217;m not ANTI-affiliate marketing. I&#8217;m not Anti-Internet Marketing. I&#8217;m not even ANTI-guru. I participate in affiliate programs, I sell products and offers to my list. But I also believe in providing substantial value for the return on investment.<br/><br/>The secret is no secret. Build relationships, be friendly, and stop selling everything that isn&#8217;t nailed down to your list.<br/><br/>To that end, here are 3 tips to keep you on track with your online network marketing prospecting:<br/><br/> Focus. Mark Joyner talks about that. See your target. Stay focused on your target without distraction, and hit it until you hit it. It may mean picking one of the programs you&#8217;ve already purchased, implementing it, and seeing it through to completion. It may mean unsubscribing from all the newsletters, mailing lists and marketing propaganda that are distracting you from hitting our goal. Whatever it takes, if success is to be yours, find one program, dedicate some time to it, and see it through until you get the results you want &#8211; or until you&#8217;re convinced you need something else to get you there. Stop living in fear. Over 80% of our decision making is motivated out of fear. This was a hard lesson for me to learn. I was constantly reading anything and everything I could to grow my business. The problem was, I wasn&#8217;t implementing anything, and couldn&#8217;t figure out why I wasn&#8217;t successful. Afraid I was missing something, I kept buying, reading and researching without implementing &#8211; so afraid that I&#8217;d miss out on the next big thing that was SURE to catapult my business. So step out of fear. Know that you have all the tools you need to be successful (because all you really need is you, anyway), and get started. Sure, there are things that will make you more efficient, but when you&#8217;re getting started, success is more important than efficiency &#8211; especially if you don&#8217;t have the money to spend. Be Courageous. Sounds simple, but it&#8217;s not easy. You can&#8217;t do it without focus and turning away from fear. Courage is feeling the fear and doing it anyway, according to the card a friend bought for me. Courage is stepping out in faith, beyond where the fear lies &#8211; maybe even in the middle of where the fear lies with the focus on a singular goal that you will not be dissuaded from &#8211; regardless of naysayers and life&#8217;s little happenstances. Once you&#8217;ve achieved steps one and two, step three reveals itself, tests you, and propels you toward greatness. <br/><br/>Look at your business, your down line and your goals. Where do you want to be? What are &#8220;those voices&#8221; saying to you that are paralyzing you in fear? You know the type I’m talking about… the “hard hitting, no remorse, all go, never quit until you beg, plead, and bribe every innocent grandmother into your organization” kind of personality. This behavior, among other things, has led to a public misunderstanding of the potential of Network Marketing.<br/><br/>There’s a reason that as soon as one of your friends hears that you’re a Network Marketer, they head for the hills and join the Witness Protection Program. It’s because they’ve probably been hounded by someone else in Network Marketing and lived to tell the story. And BY GOD do they tell the story! They share their negative experience with everyone they know.<br/><br/>WELL GUESS WHAT &#8211; THE TIME OF HOUNDING IS OVER<br/><br/>Thousands of Network Marketers have been subject to this behavior and you know what they’ve realized? 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><br/><br/>If you have been in and around the industry awhile you will often hear the terms network marketer and internet marketer. In fact, you probably don&#8217;t even distinguish between the two when you hear them. There is also Old School and New School versions of both of these types of marketers as well as a hybrid version. You may be asking so what? Who cares what they call themselves? They all want to sell me their opportunity. Ahh, but how they go about selling their opportunity and how they teach you how to sell your opportunity is a key element. And when you hear certain do&#8217;s &#038; don&#8217;t from them you&#8217;ll understand WHY they say what they say and if you should apply their techniques to what you are trying to do. And you&#8217;ll be able to discern who&#8217;s talking rubbish and who&#8217;s talking from experience and expertise.<br/><br/>Let me start off with the term: Network Marketer. Think back to the original days of Amway or Shaklee. These old school network marketers did what we now call belly to belly presentations, hotel meetings, business cards exchanges and they picked up the phone and called everybody and their brother they knew and their brother&#8217;s brothers! They quite literally pounded the phone. They created huge lists of resources and databases of everybody they knew. They built relationships with people &#038; got referrals upon referrals. They literally created a network of people they knew and kept on expanding it to all the people their people knew and so and so and so on&#8230;<br/><br/>This worked and it still works today. The reason? Even with technology today ,people still want and need to by from people they know, from a referral or people they have done business with in the past.<br/><br/>But the average person looking to make some extra money on the side just didn&#8217;t want or have the desire to make all those calls. They were too shy and embarrassed to contact their friends and family or even if they were all revved up at first when they joined, they got knocked down within the first couple of weeks. Face it, we all know what we felt like when someone we knew told us they were selling Amway or Rainbow Vacuum Cleaners!<br/><br/>Then along came the internet&#8230;..and they took their rolodex and imported (hand typed) them into a database and now they could communicate to all of their customers, prospects, distributors with a click of a button! WOW! Mail Merge was huge! MLM business started popping up on the internet and they could just send some emails and their loyal followers went running to their website and because they had a PRIOR BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP with these network marketers they bought from them and they went right down the line (hence the term downline line) &#038; were making a killing.<br/><br/>Then we of course went through the pyramid schemes and MLM companies that offered no real products. And gave MLM a rotten name. (We still have them and people still buy into them) No matter what industry you are in you will always have the unscrupulous that will take advantage of the naive.<br/><br/>Then the systems guys created the websites that DO IT ALL FOR YOU! GET PAID TODAY! Direct Sales! Just drive the traffic, no need to make Cold Calls, No Bugging your friends and family &#038; No Sorting &#8211; You just drive the traffic and our site will do the rest! 2 Ups and 1 Ups ran ramped. And then they charge you a monthly subscription service to host your website. Guaranteed income for them. The Internet Market was Born! But the Big guys had HUGE advertising budgets. They could AFFORD to drive huge amounts of traffic to their websites. The average newbie doesn&#8217;t have those kinds of funds AND are failing by huge numbers. The old networkers were use to that. The idea was and still is just get as many sign ups as you can and the true network marketers will rise to the top! And that is true. They are not lying to you.<br/><br/>Then the Mentoring programs and consultants and the Guru&#8217;s came out of the woodwork to try to instill in al that you still have to pick up the phone to build the relationships! But we Americans( 97% of us) don&#8217;t want o hear that! We want to be able to buy our way in. Make huge sums of money with no experience. They pick out the 1 success story out of thousands and we believe it will happen to us. The sales letters are really to blame, but one has to some of the responsibility&#8230;Huh? The systems guys know that. So they keep rolling out new marketing site that promise the world. And some of these sites really are well put together, but the truth of the matter is most people still need to make a connection with YOU before they buy. They buy on emotion. You have to learn how to trigger that emotion and build the relationship to get the sales. Period.<br/><br/>Now the internet marketer understands that they must build relationships but they don&#8217;t want to do it belly-to belly or via hotel presentations. So how do you accomplish that? Article writings, press releases, blogging and oh the ever so popular social network sites that are popping up every day! But the successful ones understand something else. They separate themselves from the masses. If you are doing everything everyone else is doing, do you stand out? Nope. They create their own capture pages and websites. They ARE NOT using the companies affiliate sites. They are not even marketing their business opportunity up front. These guys ARE making money. Good Money. 6K and above. Problem? They are not duplicatable. Again, the average American doesn&#8217;t have the desire or knowledge to do what these guys do. The internet marketers are telling you the old school guru&#8217;s are off out of date, that you don&#8217;t need to make phone calls, bug friends and family, sort thru hundreds and thousands to find the few good ones. And to a degree they are right. On the other hand, the network marketer now has seminars charging you thousands to teach you what you need to know, hence making himself duplicatable. Guess What? In both cases 2%-3% will rise up and become successful. Both as a network marketer student and as a Internet marketer student. A blending of the 2 has to come together. And in essence it really is a blending of 3, traditional businesses with brick and mortar offices that use the web to sell their products, old school network marketers and the new Internet Marketers. It&#8217;s called Attraction Marketing. You may seen or heard of it already but ignored, it as we Americans have become so desensitized to information. Fact is, so much garbage is thrown at us we tend to overlook the real stuff when it slaps us in the face. I know I did. And I would have quite a few hundred thousand dollars more in my pocket today if I would have taken action when the opportunity was first presented. But the good news is&#8230; it&#8217;s never to late to start again in this industry, the right way. And one more thing, you have to throw in some good old fashion common sense.<br/><br/>Starting a business, Any Business requires due diligence on your part. And must be taken seriously. What is it you want to accomplish? Is there a real product/service involved that is going to be wanted and need ed by people everywhere? Software is a product; information is a product, (information is the NUMBER 1 selling product out there today), nutritional supplements, education, &#038; travel. Don&#8217;t buy in to a business or not buy a business based on some else success or failures. Their success or failure has absolutely NO BEARING on yours. NONE! Remember that. It&#8217;s key. Make sure the product or service is something you would actually use yourself. You have to believe in your product. You have to invest in yourself and your business. Becoming a 6K or 7K earner doesn&#8217;t happen without training of some sort. But take baby steps and really evaluate what it is you are buying. Learn from the leaders who have been there, done that. Have realist expectations and be creative. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is. Hanging on to the Mothership or New Explorer?<br/><br/>To do well as a network marketer, you must be an expert in your craft. The company or your upline can assist you by providing good products that you can market and how to successfully market this business. Your best bet for success is to break away from your upline as soon as possible and become the CEO of your own business empire. The faster you become the expert, the faster your network marketing business will grow.<br/><br/>2. Sell to them En Masse via Database Marketing!<br/><br/>Did you know that people make $10,000 plus each month just having a huge database of niche audience? Once you have the power to drive traffic, to bring customers to a certain venue, restaurant, seminar, you have the power to negotiate for anything you want. The concept works exactly the same for network marketing. You can speak to a network marketing company and ask for free space in order to hold a seminar that sells the company&#8217;s products. This is a JV approach to succeeding big time in network marketing.<br/><br/>3. Large ticket items or Small?<br/><br/>Some network marketing products sell for $10, others sell for $50,000. Need less to say, its much better to spend time 1 on 1 with a big customer then with 1 customer buying a $10 product. The Team Style<br/><br/>To be successful in network marketing requires us to have a strong sponsor in order to have a good start. Look at it this way. If an upline does cold calling and you joined that team. How do you think you will be sharing the business to other business seekers? Most likely, this team will be dubbed &#8220;the cold calling team&#8221; and that is how this camp will build the business. The team may have conditioning sessions where you are trained to hear 10 &#8220;no&#8217;s&#8221; before you hear a yes. This sort of condition/cold calling regime does work.
